What did you like about your stay in the property or location?
Very friendly helpful staff. Room was clean and well equipped also excellent air conditioning/heating that was easy to operate. Location very central. I didn’t eat in the sister hotel but had a cocktail which was excellent. Overall a great stay and I would return.
What did you not like about your stay in the property or location?
The sink was very small, although fine for one person for one night. Also the shower was not easy to get to temperature it was either too cold or too hot. It was an extremely hot day so I opted for cold which was fine but this might have been an issue for a longer stay or in cooler weather.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at The Gainsborough, and I must say it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The service provided was nothing short of outstanding; the staff were attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist with a smile. The room was absolutely wonderful—spacious, impeccably clean, and furnished with luxurious touches that made my stay incredibly comfortable. Waking up to their amazing breakfast was a highlight; the variety, quality, and flavour of the dishes were simply delightful. I wholeheartedly rate my stay a perfect 10/10. The Gainsborough truly knows how to provide an unforgettable hospitality experience, and I look forward to returning in the future.

Having stayed at the hotel previously, everything feels familiar

The restaurant and the breakfast area in particular are not enticing. It would significantly elevate the experience if there was a chef who could prepare freshly cooked meals for breakfast

Location and cleanliness of the hotel. I also loved the free water and tea and the staff were very helpful and nice to deal with.

Really I have nothing bad to say. My sink was a little small but it was cute so no I have nothing bad to say.

Every member of staff was helpful, polite and professional. ‘Budget’ room was far better than we expected. Really nicely appointed and very comfortable.

Staff very friendly and pleasant. Room very clean.

Breakfast was not good value for the cost. Scrambled eggs not very nice. No other choice of egg. Basic hot selection. Continental selection good.

Great location for the museums and lovely local eating places and pubs. Friendly helpful staff and we loved the cocktail bar!

Our room didn’t get serviced one day and we had to request more coffee and milk etc.
